About BNI Aberdeen Alpha

BNI Meeting

With over 4,900 active chapters, and 100,000 members, BNI is the most successful business referral organisation in the world. At the core of BNI networking is the BNI 'chapters' which meet every week at breakfast. The meetings are scheduled for that time so they don't impact with the day to day running of your business.

The sole reason for the chapters and the meetings are to network. There is informal networking both before and after the meeting but the meetings themselves follow a tried and tested 20 point agenda. If you attend a BNI meeting in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, the United States or anywhere else, you will find all meetings follow exactly the same format, using exactly the same agenda.

The agenda is formulated to do two main things - inform the members about your business and to pass referrals between the members. The best way to understand how the chapters and meetings work is to attend one as a visitor. Outside of the weekly meetings, members will often get together so they understand more about each other's business and to discuss joint opportunities. Some chapters like to hold joint meetings which are often very successful in generating unexpected referral business.

Almost everyone who comes along to a BNI meeting says "It's not how I thought it would be!". Everyone sees something different. You can be sure that the meetings are friendly, supportive and business oriented. But to really understand the BNI experience you need to visit your local Chapter.
